As the world was getting over the last of its New Year hangover and crawling back to work, LFWM AW17 was stirring. This year's proceedings seem to come round even faster than usual which knocked some for six but there was something even more unnerving afoot that many of this season's attendees picked up on; the vibe. But could it really be all down to the new name?

Indeed, this season marked the switch from the much loved appellation London Collections Men to London Fashion Week Men’s.

What's in a name? Well, quite a bit it would seem. There had been less levity in recent seasons but this one was particularly different. Maybe it was the change of name? Or the changing needs and demands of an ever-evolving industry and undeniable shifts in priorities? Either way, there was a certain underlying silence, more of a purr than a growl. Not in terms of talent or interesting and innovative design but in terms of atmosphere and general ambience.

The general consensus might be that it's all gone a bit quiet but that doesn't necessarily mean that it will stay that way. We hope. We'll just have to wait and see how things go next season.
