It is not a secret I love leather clothes, year after year the moment fall starts my Instagram feed starts flooding with leather, this year I took it a bit further and I started showing earthy tones since now light colors, right now I am loving the combination of cream and beige, kind of unusual for someone who loves black so much, but to the current situation bringing some brightness to my wardrobe keeps me in a better mood.

I don’t know, there is something about leather that has always got my attention, is badass but chic, is sexy but it can be classy, and most important you can wear it any time of the day. A pair of leather leggings can go a long way; work, party, casual, elegant depending on how you combine them, and to me, that is important because when I spend my money on clothes I like to know I am going to be able to wear them MANY times!

I know there are many concerns about leather, because of the animal cruelty but that is why other options have been created like vegan leather and polyurethane they are not as durable and you might encounter quite a few pieces with an unpleasant smell, I always return them when that happens, but they are options. I was reading about this new type of leather called MYLO which is made of mushrooms, hopefully, the “solution” won’t be worst than the cause but it sounded interesting, I am going to leave you some information about this new development below.

Bolt Technology: MEET MYLO

For billions of years, mycelium has grown beneath our feet and served as ecological connective tissue. A sprawling, infinitely renewable, interlaced web, it threads through soil, plant bodies, and along river beds to break down organic matter and provide nutrients to plants and trees. It brings sustenance to all living species and is the literal world wide web.

We developed Mylo by engineering mycelium into a material that is everything you love about leather without everything you don’t. Mylo is certified bio-based, meaning it’s made from predominantly renewable ingredients that can be found in nature. Soft, supple, and less harmful to the planet – Mylo is a sustainable alternative to leather that will become available to the world through our consortium partners.
