Beyond King Tut Exhibit | New York City

The Immersive Experience: NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC’S BEYOND KING TUT BRINGS A GROUNDBREAKING IMMERSIVE EXHIBITION TO NEW YORK. JOIN IN THE DISCOVERY OF A STORY 3,300 YEARS IN THE MAKING.

“Beyond King Tut: The Immersive Experience" celebrates the 100-year anniversary of the legendary discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb in Egypt's Valley of the Kings. Visitors will experience cinematic storytelling and soaring projection imagery as they venture into the Boy King's world like never before. Meet the gods of the underworld, study the ancient practice of mummification, and learn more about the Explorers who continue to unmask the mysteries of the Golden King's life.

Please note, "Beyond King Tut" is not an artifact exhibition, allowing the treasures from Tut's tomb to remain in their country of origin. Beyond King Tut goes BEYOND a traditional artifact display and uses the power of photography and multimedia to create a time traveling adventure of discovery!

POV

I enjoyed this exhibit a lot, after attending Van Gogh immersive exhibit back in 2021, I developed a thing for this alluring multimedia format to enjoy history and art.

The time frame to experience the exhibit is approximately 1 hour, but it took me way longer than that, between; reading, recording, photographing, staying for the introductory documentary and last but not least the VR inside the tomb tour, that even if you get dizzy like me with VR headsets, you must do it (just close your eyes when it moves down, that is what I did).
